Program:

1/ General presentation and welcome word from ETI and EVOLEN

2/ Focus on offshore floating wind market

3/ Technical focus (15min each + question)

  • Interconnections challenges in wind turbines array: ETI / SCM Le Mans

Large-scale floating offshore wind farms will be key contributors to world energy and decarbonization targets but also raise an unprecedented engineering challenge as many interrelated parts of the design need to be considered simultaneously: the individual floating offshore wind turbines, the turbine array layout, the mooring lines and anchors, and the subsea power cables.

It is where technology development can offer new opportunity!

  • Compact power Line CPL®: HIVODUCT

Large renewable energy sources of electrical power such as offshore wind farms require reliable, low loss and high transmission capacity lines. The technology does exist in onshore wind turbine but the specificity of the offshore constrained environment requires higher transmission capacities, lower losses, better suitability to the environment and higher overload capacities than the existing cable technologies.

To that hand we have developed and qualified the Compact Power Line (CPL ®).

  • CRAFT (Counter Rotating Axis Floating Turbine): WORLDWIDE WIND

The History, The Present and The Future

The presentation will describe the history and reasoning behind the CRAFT, current status of the technology development and how this technology can open up the market for floating offshore wind.  We will also explain why the HV Swivel technology is a key component for the CRAFT development.

  • Electric Charging Buoy : SOFEC

Electric Charging Buoy, a novel concept for Offshore Electric Charging of (Offshore) Vessels. Concept development leading to approval and principle (AIP) from international class authority and future applications, notably for offshore maintenance vessel recharging on floating offshore wind turbine fields.

4/ Visit of the workshop
